This unit deals with the provision of advanced first aid response, life support, management of casualty(s), the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance, and the provision of support ot other providers.

This unit is structured to incorporate the content of HLTFA404A Apply advanced resuscitation techniques

• legal responsibilities
• storage and handling of gases
• advanced resuscitation techniques
• use of oxygen in specified medical and trauma conditions
• use of analgesic gases
• basic triage in multi-casualty incident
