REMOTE AREA FIRST AID

This course will provide skills and knowledge to perform a variety of first aid procedures in a remote settting. ideal for 4x4 clubs, outdoor activity clubs, bushwalkers and recreational activities.

Course Content

• Preparation for remote situations
• Extended skills for longer-term care of the sick and injured
• Advanced first aid equipment
• Trauma
• Medical conditions
• CPR
• Unconscious casualty
• Documentation of longer-term care
• Evacuations
• Use of communication equipment for remote areas
• Shelter in remote areas
• Tailored training to suit drilling and exploration injury risks, and Medical Authority to administer medication

Pre-requisites

The participant must have a current Apply First Aid certificate (ie Senior First Aid)
