Incorporating the Unit of Competence:
HLTFA404A Apply Advanced Resuscitation Techniques

Course Aims: 
This course is ideal for participants requiring knowledge and skills in the use of oxygen resuscitators and supplementary oxygen delivery in advanced first aid management.  The course covers the use of oxygen in cardiac arrest situations.

Prerequisites:

HLTFA301B Apply First Aid or

HLTCPR201A Perform CPR or

HLTFA201A Provide emergency life support

Content: 

  • Preparation of resuscitation equipment
  • Use of bag and mask resuscitation technique
  • Use of AED 
  • Hypoxia
  • Oxygen Safety
  • Oxygen Devices
  • Administration of Oxygen
  • Oral Airway Insertion
  • Use of Suction Devices

    • Duration:
    3 hours

    Cost:
    $80 per participant

    Assessment:
    Competency based assessment.

    Certification Validity:
    (1) One year.
